40,000 Locals Return to Their Homes in Eastern Ghouta

DAMASCUS, (ST)-Thousands of people returned to their homes in eastern Ghouta towns and cities after the Syrian Arab army uprooted terrorism from Ghouta and restored security and stability there.

A military source told SANA that 40,000 persons have so far returned to their homes in Eastern Ghouta, pointing out that the return of locals will continue to all the areas liberated by the Army from terrorism.

 All the cities and towns of eastern Ghouta have been liberated and the state institutions have resumed work there except in Douma where the Jaish al-Islam terrorists and their families started yesterday to be evacuated to Jabrablus in Aleppo in order to declare Douma free of terrorism.

 SANA reporters in Ghouta said that in order to ensure safe return for the locals, the Syrian army engineering units continue their mop up and demining operations in order to clear the area from explosive devices and mines planted by terrorist before leaving Eastern Ghouta.

In addition units form the army and police continue to cooperate to provide all facilitations necessary to ensure the return of locals as soon as possible.
