38 Arab players compete in the Arab Super Championship for MMA in Damascus

DAMASCUS, April.27, (ST)- Suspense was experienced by the participants in the  Arab Super Championship for mixed material arts (MMA), which is being held in Al-Jalaa Sports Hall in Damascus with the participation of 38 Arab players from Lebanon, Iraq, Palestine, Jordan, Tunisia, Yemen and Egypt, in addition to Syria.
 
Member of the Executive Bureau of the Arab Federation for Sports (MMA) Silwan Al-Hashemi said in a statement to the Syrian Arab News Agency (SANA) that Syria is able to organize Arab and international tournaments. 
 
“Recently , we followed an Arab kickboxing championship that was organized in the same hall, and we saw a good turn out and witnessed strong competitions,” he added. 
 
For his part, the head of the Egyptian and African Game Federation, Mohamed Ibrahim, referred to the good organization of the tournament and to the talents that Syria enjoys in combat games in all age groups, wishing them more success in the upcoming tournaments.
 
Mixed martial arts (MMA)is hybrid combat sport incorporating techniques from boxing, wrestling, judo, jujitsu, karate, Muay Thai (Thai boxing), and other disciplines.
