Haitham Hafez, head of the Syrian Publishers Association said in a statement: “The meeting of the General Assembly of the Arab Publishers Union witnessed remarkable Syrian presence and gained the confidence of the audience because of the inclusive ideas and tools that rise to the Arab publishing industry.”

Hafez pointed out that the average Syrian publisher has the skill to work in the midst of crises, as he succeeded, endured and continued even at the times of rise of terrorism, aggression and economic siege that Syria is subjected to as part and parcel of the fierce attacks targeting the Arab culture and publishing industry.

Cairo International Book Fair is open from the 26th of January up to the 7th of February 2022 with more than 70 Syrian publishers, while the number of publishers and official bodies participating in the exhibition amounts to 1063 publishing houses and agencies from 50 Arab and foreign countries.
