2nd Olympiad in Russian language kicks off in Al-Baath University in Homs

The 2nd Olympiad in Russian Language kicked off on Tuesday at the Faculty of Mechanical and Electricity Engineering of Al-Baath University in Homs.

The multi-specialization Olympiad is held by Al-Baath University in cooperation with Moscow State University of Technology “STANKIN”.

According to the Rector of Al-Baath University Abdul Baset Al-Khatieb, the Olympiad aims at enhancing the students’ skills and knowledge in the Russian language, clarifying that students from the several schools, the Higher Institute for Languages and the Russian Cultural Center in Al-Baath University are taking part in this Olympiad.

On his part, Vladimir Serebrenny, Rector of Moscow State University of Technology “STANKIN”, said that this Olympiad is a bridge between the Syrian and Russian cultures, expressing hope that such activities will contribute to boosting bilateral ties between Syria and Russia.
