2270 students take part in mathematics tests within the second stage of the Syrian Scientific Olympiad 2023 for young and adolescents

About 2270 male and female students from the fifth and sixth grades of basic education competed in mathematics exams, within the second stage of the Scientific Olympiad for young and adolescents for the year 2023.

The scientific event, which is held by the Distinction and Creativity Agency, included questions on measuring logical analysis and mathematical thinking skills within scientific concepts.

Director of the Syrian Scientific Olympiad at the Distinction and Creativity Agency Eng. Leen Qassem explained in a statement to SANA that the Science Olympiad for adolescents returned this year with a new start, by providing the opportunity to the students of the fifth and sixth grades of basic education to participate in the category of junior after the Olympiad was limited during the past two years to students of the seventh and eighth grades of basic education, in the fields of mathematics, biology, physics and chemistry.

Teacher Adham Qassab considered that the Olympiad is a useful scientific experience that focuses on building the human being, by discovering the scientific talents of children and young generations and working on supporting and caring for them in order to achieve a better future.

A number of coordinators of the Syrian scientific Olympiad in a number of provinces stressed the importance of the Olympics in stimulating aspects of creativity and intelligence among the contestants, indicating that holding it for the first time for young people is a new experience and a preliminary motivation step in order to qualify them scientifically for the future.

They indicated that the Olympiad plays a key role in discovering the distinguished scientific talents of the students of the fifth and sixth grades of basic education and qualifying the students to be in the national teams of the Syrian Science Olympiad to be able to represent their country in international and international forums.
