The Hague, (ST) – Iran called on the Organization for the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons (OPCW) to investigate the crimes of the Zionist entity in terms of prohibited weapons, especially chemical weapons, in Palestine and Lebanon.
During a meeting today in The Hague with the Director-General of the Organization for the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons (OPCW), Fernando Arias, Iranian Deputy Foreign Minister for Legal and International Affairs Kazem Gharibabadi, according to IRNA, called for pressuring the Zionist entity to join the Chemical Weapons Convention and put its chemical facilities under international inspection.
He stressed the importance of fully and effectively implementing all provisions of the convention, including strengthening international cooperation for the peaceful uses of chemical materials, equipment and technologies.
For his part, Arias expressed his appreciation for the active participation of the Islamic Republic of Iran in the organization’s meetings and discussions, while the two sides exchanged views on areas of enhancing cooperation between Iran and the organization.
