Occupied Al-Quds, (ST) – The Palestinian Presidency welcomed the announcement of ceasefire in Lebanon which came into effect today.
The Presidency expressed in a statement today, reported by Wafa News Agency, its hope that this step will contribute to stopping the violence and instability that the region is suffering from as a result of the Israeli policies that are leading to a comprehensive explosion. It stressed Palestine’s full support for Lebanon’s stability and security.
The Presidency stressed the need to accelerate the implementation of UN Security Council Resolution No. 2735 on ceasefire in Gaza Strip, the entry of humanitarian aid, the complete Israeli withdrawal from it, preventing the displacement of its people and enabling the State of Palestine to assume its full responsibilities there
Saudi Arabia Welcomes the Announcement of a Ceasefire in Lebanon
In Riyadh, the Saudi Arabia welcomed the announcement of a ceasefire between Lebanon and the Israeli occupation entity, and its coming into effect.
The Saudi Foreign Ministry said in a statement today, according to the Saudi Press Agency (SPA): The Saudi Arabia appreciates all international efforts made in this regard and hopes that this will lead to the implementation of Security Council Resolution 1701 and the preservation of Lebanon’s sovereignty, security and stability and the return of the displaced to their homes in safety and security.
The ceasefire was announced last night.
Lebanese caretaker Prime Minister Najib Mikati called on the Israeli enemy to fully abide by the ceasefire resolution that was reached, withdraw from all Lebanese areas and sites it occupies and fully abide by international resolution 1701.
