More than 400 settlers storm into Al-Aqsa Mosque

Occupied Al-Quds, (ST) – More than 400 Israeli settlers stormed into Al-Aqsa Mosque this morning under the protection of the occupation forces.

Palestinian media reported that 475 settlers stormed into Al-Aqsa Mosque in successive groups, and carried out provocative tours in its courtyards under heavy protection by the occupation forces, which strengthened their presence in the Old City, Al-Aqsa, its surroundings, and at its gates and roads, closed the roads in the Bab Al-Asbat area and obstructed the Palestinians’ access to the mosque.

Yesterday, more than 1,000 settlers stormed into Al-Aqsa Mosque.

Moreover, the Israeli occupation forces detained at least 28 Palestinians, including former prisoners, in various locations across the West Bank.

According to a joint statement from the Palestinian Prisoners’ Society and the Commission of Detainees and Ex-Detainees Affairs, the detentions were carried out in Al-Arroub camp, north of Hebron, which affected 15 citizens, while the rest were distributed among the governorates of Ramallah, Salfit, Bethlehem, Nablus, and Qalqilya.

These operations were accompanied by widespread raids, assaults, threats against detainees and their families, field interrogations, and the destruction of homes.

The statement highlighted that since the onset of the ongoing offensive against the Palestinian people in October 2023; more than 11,400 detentions have been documented in the West Bank, including Al-Quds (Jerusalem).

Additionally, the report noted that Israeli forces continue to detain civilians from Gaza, particularly from the northern regions, including women, children, and medical staff, committing acts of enforced disappearance.

According to the statement, the occupation authorities have refused to fully disclose the identities and locations of these detainees, with organizations unable to ascertain the total number of detentions in Gaza, which is estimated to be in the thousands.
