Some 2000 health kits were distributed Thursday to the displaced Yarmouk camp’s people, who are living in Babbela, Yalda and Beit Sahem areas south of Damascus.
The distribution process was carried out by the UNRWA and the General Authority for Palestine Arab Refugees with the support of the Syrian government.
“Since the end of the first month of 2014, about 159,162 food parcels and health kits had been distributed to the camp’s people,” Director-General of the General Authority for Palestine Arab Refugees, Ali Mustafa said.
On Wednesday, fierce clashes flared up between the ISIS and al-Nusra Front fighters in Yarmouk camp, according to the Damascus-based al-Watan newspaper.
The paper quoted activists on social media as saying that the clashes lasted for a long time between the terrorist ‘Ansar al-Islam’ group, which is affiliated to the ISIS [also known as ISIL and Daesh] and the terrorist al-Nusra Front fighters.
The clashes resulted in the death of many fighters from the two sides.
“The camp witnessed tension and wide spread for the ‘Ansar al-Islam’ fighters after the death of the group’s “Emir”terrorist Bilal Salman plus three of terrorists,” the activists said, adding that ISIS arrested Director of the ‘Yarmouk Camp Commission for Relief and Development’, dubbed Abo Abdul IlahFarhoud, and Director of the ‘al-Aqsa commission’, dubbed Abo al-Abed.
Last December, a deal was reached to evacuate the ISIS and al-Nusra Front gunmen from al-Hajar al-Aswad area and the surrounding of Yarmouk camp.
Many gunmen were evacuated before the pause of the deal due to logistic reasons.
