200 Tonnes of Iranian Humanitarian Aid Arrive in Aleppo Eastern Countryside

ALEPPO, (ST)- A convoy of humanitarian aid presented by the friendly Iranian people to the locals of Aleppo eastern countryside arrived in Aleppo province on Tuesday.

In a statement to SANA, member of the executive bureau of Aleppo City Council Abdul Ghani Qassab said the aid comes to stress the friendship and cooperation ties between the peoples of Syria and Iran.

The 200 tonnes of humanitarian aid, carried on board of 10 trucks, contains relief and food materials, children clothes, medicines and school stationary. The materials will be distributed on the locals in the towns of Aleppo eastern countryside who were affected by the attacks of ISIS terrorists.

On his part, Dr. Ahmad Husseini, head of “Jihad al-Bina” charity establishment, said the convoy comes within the framework of the assistance being provided by the government and people of the Islamic Republic of Iran to their steadfast Syrian brothers to help them withstand the crisis caused by international terrorism and evil forces.

According to Husseini, the convoy of Iranian assistance enhances friendship and cooperation between the two countries and stresses the Iranians’ support for the people of Aleppo to help them launch reconstruction.

From the very beginning of the crisis, Iran has provided aid to people displaced by terrorist takfiri groups in different Syrian provinces. Over the past few days, two convoys of Iranian humanitarian aid arrived in Deir Ezzor to alleviate the suffering caused to the locals because of the recently-broken ISIS siege.
