200 martyrs and dozens of detainees from the Palestinian educational staff since the beginning the Israeli aggression on Gaza Strip
Occupied Al-Quds (ST) – The Palestinian Ministry of Education indicated that more than 200 educational personnel were martyred in Gaza Strip, while dozens of teachers were detained in the West Bank since the beginning of the Israeli aggression against the Strip on October 7, calling on the UN to assume its responsibilities to protect Palestinian teachers.
The Ministry stated on the occasion of Palestinian Teacher’s Day that this occasion comes today in extremely complicated circumstances in Gaza, Al-Quds (Jerusalem) and the rest of the West Bank where the occupation continues its violations against the teachers.
The Ministry stressed that the Palestinian teachers in Gaza and Al-Quds continue to provide educational activities in shelter centers despite the catastrophic conditions resulting from the aggression and they continue with their struggle to protect the Palestinian curriculum from being Judaized.
The Ministry called on the UN and all its affiliated institutions and organizations, specifically UNESCO, to assume their responsibilities to protect the Palestinian teacher from being targeted by the occupation, and to protect the Palestinian education sector.
