200 local companies take part in “Made in Syria” Exhibition for Exporting Clothes, Textiles

The “Made in Syria” Exhibition for Exporting Clothes, Textiles and Production Requirements (Autumn-Winter 2022-2023) kicked off on Friday at Damascus Fairgrounds with the participation of more than 200 local companies.

The 4-day event, organized by the Federation of the Syrian Chambers of Industry and the Association of the Syrian Exporters of Garments and Textiles, hosts 450 businessmen from different Arab countries.

“In each exhibition, the Syrian industrialists prove their strong determination to make successes and to present the newest and most distinguished clothes and textiles production for exportation,” Minister of Economy and Foreign Trade Mohammad Samer Khalil said in a statement to journalists following the opening of the exhibition.

He pointed out that the Syrian clothes and textile production has proved its quality and competitiveness at the regional level despite the difficult circumstances that have faced Syria over the past ten years.

He clarified that more than 130 producers and production companies from Aleppo city are taking part, noting that Aleppo has regained the glory for the Syrian clothes industry of which the Syrians are proud.

Head of the Federation of the Syrian Chambers of Industry Fares Al-Shehabi, on his part, said the exhibition is very important as it is a means for marketing the Syrian products, noting some obstacles facing producers that need to be solved by the government.

He pointed out that some new machines have entered the production process which improved the quality of products, noting a continuous increase in the Syrian exports.
