HASAKA, (ST)- Infighting among the Turkish-backed armed groups was renewed on Tuesday in the Turkish-occupied city of Ras al-Ain in Syria’s Hasaka northwestern countryside.
More than 20 terrorists were killed and scores others were injured.
Local sources told SANA reporter that the infighting was renewed on Tuesday at a high pace for the second day, pointing out that the Turkish occupation-backed terrorists are using machineguns and shells, thereby increasing casualties within the ranks of the rival groups and causing huge destruction to civilians’ houses.
According to the sources, the death toll of the infighting reached 20- 13 terrorists from the so-called “Ahrar al-Sharqeyya” group and 7 terrorists from “al-Hamzat” group- not to mention the serious injuries that may increase the toll within the coming hours.
On Monday, fierce clashes erupted in Ras al-Ayn among terrorist groups including “al-Mou’tasem”, “al-Hamzat” and Ahrar al-Sharqeyya” on the backdrop of a dispute over influence areas and some stolen items.
The infighting erupted also because of revengeful acts after a number of members of these groups were killed in recent infighting.
