20 new development projects in Damascus countryside to upgrade service reality

On the occasion of the National Day of Local Councils, which falls on the 17th  of February, Damascus Countryside Governorate, in coordination with the administrative units and local councils in the governorate, has started implementing a set of development projects, in addition to launching many participatory activities between government agencies and civil society to improve the service reality in the cities and towns of the governorate.

Engineer Abdul Razzaq Dmiriya, Secretary of the Provincial Council, noted in a statement to SANA reporter that about 20 development projects were announced to be implemented during this year at the level of local councils in cities and towns in the governorate.

Dmiriya referred to the implementation of the national decentralization plan of  local councils to enhance their capacity to be self-reliant.

The head of the local council in the city of Al-Tal, Eng. Basem Al-Saml, pointed out that the council will intensify, during the coming period, hygiene and awareness campaigns, in addition to following up on the maintenance of the pavements, green spaces and parks.
