20 civilians martyred, 40 injured in terrorist attacks in Aleppo city

Lattakia – The Russian Center coordinating the cessation of hostilities agreement in the country said that some 20 civilians were martyred and 40 others were injured in mortar attacks on residential neighborhoods in Aleppo city in the last 24 hours, SANA reported.

Terrorist groups have breached the cessation of hostilities agreement 643 times since it came into effect on 27 February 2016.

The center, based in Hmeimim, explained in a statement on Wednesday that terrorists of Jabhat al-Nusra and the so-called “Ahrar al-Sham” shelled the two residential neighborhoods of al-Midan and al-Mouhafaza in Aleppo city with mortar rounds, leaving 20 people dead and 40 others injured.

A commercial center and housing and administrative buildings sustained damage in the attacks.

The cessation of hostilities agreement does not include Jabhat al-Nusra, ISIS and other groups listed by the UN as terrorist organizations.

Different field reports affirm that the Turkish regime under Recep Tayyip Erdogan keeps providing terrorists in northern Aleppo with weapons and military support.

The Russian Coordination Center stated on Tuesday that it monitored a convoy of trucks loaded with weapons and munitions that crossed the Turkish borders and entered areas in Aleppo northeastern countryside where terrorists from ISIS are active.

In the same context, Jabhat al-Nusra terrorists targeted al-Baath city in the southern Quneitra province with several shells, causing material damage but no casualties were reported.

A source at Quneitra Police Command told SANA that terrorists fortified in the villages of al-Adnaniyeh and al-Samdaniyeh targeted al-Baath city with a number of artillery and mortar shells, one of which hit the commercial secondary school in the city.

Class rooms and some citizens’ properties sustained damage due to the terrorist attack.
