2.9 million people are infected with the emerging coronavirus around the world

On April 26, the American Johns Hopkins University, which is a reference point for tracking infections and deaths caused by the emerging Corona virus, announced that the number of people living with the virus in the world amounted about 2,898,000 people, an increase of more than 87.2 thousand during the past 24 hours.

The university said in a statement that this number represents a decrease in the daily casualty rate after more than 100,000 cases were recorded during the previous day, adding that the total deaths reached 202880, while more than 817,000 people were recovering from the beginning of the pandemic.

The number of injured in the United States reached 939 thousand people, followed by the list of the five most affected countries, Spain with more than 223 thousand cases, Italy with about 195 thousand cases, and France with 161 thousand.

In Germany, the Robert Koch Institute announced the registration of 1737 new cases of the virus, exceeding the total number of infections by 154 thousand, while the total number of deaths reached 5970.

In China, the National Health Commission announced the registration of 11 new confirmed cases on the Chinese mainland, including 5 arrivals, while the Hubei Province, where the virus had spread, had not registered the beginning of new confirmed infections or new deaths.

India recorded 1990 new cases of the virus during the past 24 hours, bringing the total number of people infected in the country to 26,496 people, while the number of deaths rose by 49 to a total of 824 cases.

In South Korea, 10 new cases were recorded, bringing the total number of injuries to 10728, while two new deaths were confirmed, bringing the number of deaths to 242.

In New Zealand, 9 new cases of the virus were recorded, for a total of 1470 cases.
