Damascus (ST): 191 people, including 21 children, who are members of the Syrian community in Sudan, were evacuated from the country and they arrived at Damascus International Airport yesterday on board a Cham Wings plane.
The Syrian expatriate Hassan Al-Ali praised the evacuation process, which was facilitated and coordinated by the Syrian embassy in Sudan, indicating that this batch was for patients, the elderly and pregnant women.
The expatriate Khaled Qweider said: The Syrian embassy has provided assistance to the Syrian community in Sudan, from the moment of leaving Khartoum until reaching the plane.
Expatriate Zahra Eid said: We felt fear in Khartoum, and thanks to coordination with the embassy, we arrived at the port of Port Sudan and stayed for several days hoping to reach Jeddah and from there to Syria, and when this failed, a plane was sent from Syria to Port Sudan airport.
Muhammad Adnan praised the cooperation of the Syrian Embassy in Khartoum, which facilitated and coordinated the evacuation process from Khartoum to Port Sudan Airport and from there to Damascus International Airport via Cham Wings Airlines.
