19 thousand tons estimates of cotton production in Hasakah

Hasakah, (ST) – The Directorate of Agriculture in Hasakah Governorate estimated the primary production of the cotton crop planted for the current season with a quantity of approximately 19 thousand tons.

The Head of the Department of Plant Production in the Directorate of Agriculture, Engineer Jalal Bilal, said in a statement to SANA that according to the follow-up of the reality of the fields planted with cotton crop by the agricultural departments spread throughout the governorate, the initial estimates of the production of one hectare of the crop are approximately 3250 kilograms on average in various regions agricultural stability.

He said that the start of the season for cotton picking is after the middle of next month.

It is noteworthy that the area planted with the cotton crop in Hasakah Governorate for the current season amounts to 5910 hectares.
