170 people  injured in an earthquake that hit northwest Iran

Tehran (ST): 170 people were injured as a result of an earthquake measuring 5.4 on the Richter scale.The earthquake hit the city of Khoy, West Azerbaijan Province, northwest of Iran, at dawn today.
The Director-General of Crisis Affairs in the governorate, Amir Abbas Jafari, said: “About 170 people were injured while leaving their homes, for fear of the tremor,” explaining that the injured were treated by sending relief teams from the Red Crescent immediately to the place.
According to the Seismological Center of the Geophysical Institute of Tehran University, the epicenter of this tremor was at a depth of 10 km, and was felt by residents in the cities of this province and the neighboring province of East Azerbaijan.
