MOSCOW, Jul.7, (ST)- Today, Bauman Moscow State Technical University held a graduation ceremony for its students for the current academic year, including 17 Syrian students from various technical specialties, in the presence of a number of heads of diplomatic missions accredited to the Russian Federation, including the Syrian ambassador in Moscow, Riyad Haddad.
The University’s Rector Mikhail Gordin said that the university annually hosts hundreds of foreign students from 76 countries from all continents of the world who receive their studies in 48 faculties, noting that the number of graduates this year reached 198 foreign students.
For his part, Ambassador Haddad congratulated the Syrian students, who graduated from the university. He referred to the distinguished level of cooperation in the educational and cultural field between Syria and Russia, which is being cemented year after year.
The ambassador also talked about the challenges that face Syria in the current period, stressing that these challenges require the people of Syria to make more efforts to defend the homeland, protect its security, sovereignty and territorial integrity, and ease the negative economic effects experienced by Syrians in general due to unilateral coercive measures.
He asserted the importance of the Syrian graduates returning to their homeland and contributing to the process of rebuilding what was destroyed by the terrorist war, getting benefit from the sciences and knowledge they obtained from friendly Russia in the development of Syria.
