Syria’s bodybuilding team ended its participation in the Master of the Universe Amateur Bodybuilding Tournament held in the Lebanese capital Beirut with 17 various medals, five gold, five silver and seven bronze.
Our players were able to outperform their counterparts in the participating youth, men and Masters groups. Amin Al-Hares won the Masters Gold medal in the 90-kg weight category in addition to a professional card. Ahmed Al-Hassan won two Masters silvers in the over-90kg category and in the Men’s category over 100kg, while Amer Khalil, Muhannad Al-Rihawi and Muhammad Makana won bronze medals in the youth, masters and men categories over 90 kg and men ‘s 70kg.
On the first day of the tournament, our team achieved ten medals, including three gold medals, each by Haidara Swidan in the Physique Category, 179 cm- height, and Mohammed Ismail in the Classic Bodybuilding category of 168 cm -height and Badruddin Deebo in the Classic BodyBuilding for over 180 cm -height. They also won three silver medals, by Tariq Qutrash in the Physique Category ,173 cm -height, Kaser al-Said in the physique category, above 182 cm height, and Ibrahim Abrash in the Classic Bodybuilding Category ,180 cm height.
The Syrian champions managed to win four bronze medals by, Duraid Douai in the Physique Category,180 cm height, Amer Khalil in the Classic BodyBuilding Category in the Youth Open category, and Tariq Qutrash and Mohammad Makana in the classic Physique Category ,171 cm height.
On the sidelines of the tournament, Syrian player Elaf Al-Sha’ir won the gold medal in Bodybuilding to be the first Syrian player to be crowned in this game.
In a statement by SANA, the President of the Game Association Manar Haikal explained that the tournament witnessed a strong technical level with the presence of players from various Arab, Asian and European countries, notably Iran, Egypt, Iraq, Palestine, Jordan and Lebanon, noting that the players’ results were an achievement due to their considerable efforts in preparing and equipping.
