1580 coronavirus tests conducted for Syrian students coming to take their exams

Damascus, (ST) – The Director of School Health in the Ministry of Education, Dr. Hatoon Al-Tawashi, confirmed that the necessary medical examinations were conducted for Syrian students coming from some areas in the governorates of Aleppo, Idlib and Deir Ezzor to sit exams in areas controlled by the state.

Al-Tawashi indicated in a statement to SANA that,during the past two days, 1580 rapid tests for the Corona virus were conducted for students, including 1450 swabs in Aleppo, 112 in Deir Ezzor and 18 in Idlib so far. She affirmed that, all the results of swabs that were carried out were negative.

Al-Tawashi explained that health teams have been assigned to student hosting centers set up by the government in five governorates (Aleppo, Deir Ezzor, Raqqa, Hama and Damascus countryside) with the aim of providing health care to them during their stay in the centers. She added that, there are psychological counselors to provide psychosocial support to students and deal with their psychological conditions in these centers. 

Al-Tawashi pointed out that, in cooperation with international organizations, hygiene and sterilization supplies such as soap, chlorine, detergents, alcohol sterilizers, and masks were provided for the centers and students residing there, and all the means that will provide educational services to them..
