Russia, Iran reaffirm the need to respect Syria’s sovereignty, territorial integrity
Russia and ran have reaffirmed the need to respect Syria’s sovereignty and preserve its territorial integrity, the Russian Foreign Ministry said in a statement, according to Tass News Agency.
The agency reported that the Russian President’s envoy to the Middle East and Africa, Deputy Foreign Minister Mikhail Bogdanov, and Senior Adviser to Iranian Foreign Minister Ali Asghar Khaji exchanged during a meeting on Wednesday viewpoints on several international issues, mainly the political process in Syria.
They also stressed the importance of cooperation within the framework of the Astana Format, and the need to provide more international assistance for reconstruction in Syria.
