The Ministry of Water Resources on Saturday announced the beginning of the test operation of a government irrigation project in Deir Ezzor province.
The project stopped for more than 10 years due to terrorism, the ministry said, clarifying that the project consists of a pumping station, a branch lifting station, a main water supply channel and branch waterways.
SANA reporter in Deir Ezzor said that the General establishment for Land Reform, which implements the project, started today the test operation of the project in preparation for putting it into service within the coming few days, clarifying that this project will irrigate 7500 hectares of agricultural land in the western countryside of Boukmal area in Deir Ezzor.
