Syrian Athlete Ma’an As’ad wins a bronze medal in the World Weightlifting Championship in Colombia

Syria has won a bronze medal in the 2022 World Weightlifting Championship, currently held in the Colombian capital Bogota, through athlete Ma’an Asa’ad in the clean and jerk competition for men.

As’ad deserved the bronze after lifting 247 kg. He was one step away from winning the world title champion if he lifted the 252 kg class.

As’ad achieved new records in the snatch and the total score in the current championship that qualified him to the Paris Olympics in 2024.
