Palestinian officials, factions condemn occupation’s cold-blooded murder of a Palestinian in Nablus

The Palestinian presidency slammed the cold-blooded killing of the Palestinian youth Ammar Hamdi Mufleh, 25, by the Israeli occupation forces in the town of Huwwara, in Nablus, as one of the heinous crimes committed daily against the Palestinian people.

According to WAFA News Agency, the presidency affirmed in a statement that such crimes have become a systematic policy of the successive Israeli governments that require urgent international intervention to provide protection to the defenseless Palestinian people.

The presidency added that the continued international silence, lack of accountability and Israel’s impunity have encouraged the occupation to commit such crimes in cold blood.

The Palestinian Ministry of Foreign Affairs also condemned the killing of Mufleh by an Israeli racist soldier, describing it as a crime against humanity that reflects the occupation’s fascist and racist mentality and exposes its scheme to escalate the situation in the region and kill more Palestinians.

The ministry held the Israeli government directly responsible of this crime, pointing out that the fascism practiced by Israeli lawmakers creates a feeling among soldiers that they are protected by the political and judicial authorities of the occupation entity.

It called on the International Criminal Court (ICC) to uphold its responsibilities, break its silence and promptly end its investigations as to ensure the prosecution of the perpetrators of this crime and the rest of the crimes committed by the occupation.

In addition, the Palestinian Prime Minister Mohammed Shtayyeh said that the scene of the criminal execution of a Palestinian youth in Huwwara, in Nablus, reflects the organized racism practiced by the occupation forces in complete disregard to the international resolutions and conventions.

He pointed out that the Israeli forces feel assured that they will not be held accountable for their crimes which encourages them to step up their criminality.

Shtayyeh warned of the dangerous consequences of such horrific crimes, calling on the world countries to promptly intervene to stop the crimes committed by the occupation against the Palestinian people.

For their part, the Palestinian resistance factions asserted that the crime of executing Mufleh exposes the scheme of the Zionist occupation to undermine the Palestinian cause. They reiterated that this crime will strengthen the steadfastness and determination of the Palestinian people to continue their resistance until they restore their internationally-recognized legitimate rights, foremost of which ending the occupation and establishing the Palestinian state with Al-Quds as its capital.
