The International Atomic Energy Agency: The Ukrainian bombing of the Zaporozhye plant may cause a radioactive leak
The International Atomic Energy Agency has warned that the repeated Ukrainian bombing of the Zaporozhye plant may cause a radioactive leak.
Sputnik quoted the agency as saying in a report published today on the results of its mission’s visit to the Zaporozhye nuclear plant that the bombing of the station could lead to damage to important equipment and unlimited leakage of radioactive materials.
In its report, the Agency stressed the need to stop the bombing of the plant’s buildings and its surroundings by the Ukrainian army in order to preserve the physical integrity of the nuclear plant’s structure.
It is noteworthy that the Zaporozhye nuclear plant has been exposed to Ukrainian fire for more than a month and the plant is still subject to frequent Ukrainian bombardment.
