The restoration of services to several industrial areas that were damaged due to terrorism in Damascus Countryside, has so far encouraged around 1420 industrial and craft facilities to return to work, mainly in the Tal Kurdi, Fadloun1, Fadloun2 and Al-Qadam areas.

According to As’ad Khallouf, Director of the Industrial and Crafts areas in Damascus Countryside, works to restore the services and prepare the infrastructure have been completed in some industrial areas, while they are underway in some other places with the aim of meeting all the requirements of the industrial areas, including fuel and electricity, with the aim of resuming production.

He told SANA that tens of industrial facilities, several of which depend on agricultural production and services, were granted licenses to start work, including hospitals, schools, trade centers and others.

Director of the two industrial areas “Fadloun2” and “Al-Qadam” Raef Al-Hou said that the rehabilitation of the infrastructure in Fadloun 2 area has been completed and this has encouraged the return of 750 out of 1000 industrial facilities of different specializations including food, chemicals, plastics, textiles and clothes.

He pointed out that the value of the monthly production of these facilities was estimated at 5 billion Syrian Pounds, noting that part of this production is exported.

He explained that 450 out of 2000 facilities have returned to work in Al-Qadam industrial area, but still this area needs more services and infrastructure works to meet the requirements of the factories that plan to start work there.
