BRICS Summit Final Statement: Continuing cooperation to ensure global food security

Moscow (ST): The leaders of the BRICS countries affirmed their countries’ commitment to increasing cooperation in the field of agriculture to ensure global food security.

Considering that the BRICS countries produce about a third of the world’s food, we affirm the commitment to continue cooperation in the field of agriculture and intensify the sustainable development of agriculture and rural areas in the countries of the group with a view to ensuring food security in our countries and all over the world.

The statement pointed to the importance of the availability of raw materials for agricultural production, especially fertilizers, to ensure global food security.
