136 Terrorists Killed South of Mogadishu

Mogadishu (ST) – Somali army announced the death of 136 militants from Al-Shabaab movement which is affiliated to Al-Qaeda terrorist organization, in a military operation in Lower Shabelle region, south of the capital, Mogadishu.

Deputy Minister of Information Abd al-Rahman Yusuf Al-Adala stated in a press conference yesterday evening, according to the Somali News Agency, that the Somali army managed in a military operation, in cooperation with the Security and Intelligence Service and friendly forces, to eliminate 136 militants from Al-Shabaab movement, including three field commanders.

Al-Adala indicated that the army destroyed vehicles and confiscated combat equipment that belong to the militants.
