13 Iranian universities introduce their capabilities in an exhibition at the Faculty of Law of Damascus University
Damascus, (ST) – Within the framework of the Syrian-Iranian scientific cooperation, the National Union of Syrian Students, in cooperation with the Iranian Scientific Advisory, yesterday organized a scientific exhibition to introduce Iranian universities at the Faculty of Law at Damascus University.
The exhibition, which is held under the title “Exhibition of Scientific Capabilities of Universities of the Islamic Republic of Iran”, will last for 4 days. 13 of the most important and oldest universities in Iran are participating in it. It aims to introduce the education system in Iran and the specializations of Iranian universities and educational institutions, in addition to displaying free scholarships provided to Syrian students.
Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research Bassam Ibrahim stressed in a statement to the media after the opening of the exhibition the importance of benefiting from the experiences and practical aspects possessed by the participating universities in the exhibition, which include most of the specializations of general, basic, human, medical and engineering sciences, in the first university stages and postgraduate studies. He indicated that such exhibitions constitute an opportunity to inform Syrian students about the services provided by these universities, their teaching systems, curricula, fees and how to register in them.
For her part, Dr. Darin Suleiman, Head of the National Union of Syrian Students clarified that the importance of the exhibition stems from the importance of deepening student exchange and scientific agreements between Syrian and Iranian universities and benefiting as much as possible from the existing and accumulated experiences of Iranian universities so that Damascus University can develop the skills of its students and connect them with the labor market, and developing the agreements that were concluded between the two sides.
The Iranian Ambassador in Damascus Hussein Akbari clarified that what the exhibition includes is a small part of the scientific capabilities that the Iranian universities possess, and there are many Iranian universities which were unable to come this time, but they will participate in the upcoming exhibitions.
Ambassador Akbari said: We are convinced that science and knowledge are among the most important main elements of the ability and strength of any country at the political, cultural, media, or other levels. He pointdd out that universities can play an important role in the field of developing techniques and technology that have a very important impact on the future of countries.
He indicated that Iran and Syria are in dire need of developing cooperation in the scientific, knowledge and technical fields in order to break the unjust siege imposed by the enemies on both countries.
