Participants in the thirteenth scientific conference held by the General Commission for Scientific Agricultural Research and which began its work today in Al-Assad Library will discuss 120 applied researches with the aim of developing the agricultural sector in Syria.
The participants in the three-day conference will discuss mechanisms for developing the agricultural sector through scientific research, creativity and innovation, in addition to presenting the results of the most important modern applied agricultural scientific research to specialists to benefit from observations, detect errors, develop research and benefit from it by applying it on the ground to solve agricultural problems.
The Minister of Agriculture and Agrarian Reform, Eng. Muhammad Hassan Qatana, indicated in a speech that the research presented at the conference is considered the nucleus for developing the agricultural sector and production. He stressed that the conference’s goal is to develop the research that researchers implemented over a year to be integrated programs and achieve integrated management of products for a particular sector.
Minister Qatna pointed out that these researches are carried out in cooperation with relevant organizations, ministries and bodies to harvest positive results from the conference that will form the nucleus of developing the agricultural sector and that are consistent with the results of the agricultural sector forum approved by the government in 2021.
The Director of the General Authority for Scientific Agricultural Research, Dr. Magda Mufleh, noted that the conference is a forum for discussion, dialogue, exchange of experiences, and presentation of business researches’ results that cost researchers time and effort in a time of limited materials and capabilities.
Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Dr. Bassam Ibrahim, underlined the importance of the conference in strengthening partnership between the Ministries of Agriculture and Higher Education as an opportunity to exchange views and experiences in the field of agricultural research in line with the Ministry of Agriculture’s plan to move from theoretical to applied scientific research that serves the agricultural sector.
