12 Civilians Martyred, 15 others Injured in Explosion of Landmines Left by Terrorists in Aleppo Countryside

ALEPPO, (ST) –Twelve civilians were martyred and 15 others were injured on Tuesday in the blast of two landmines left by terrorists before being driven out of the areas they were controlling in Aleppo countryside.  

According to a source at Aleppo Police Command, a landmine left by Daesh terrorist organization was exploded when a truck carrying workers ran over it in Maragha village in Aleppo southern countryside. Seven people were martyred and 14 others were injured in the incident.

Another landmine was earlier exploded while some locals from Tabaret Maddi village in Aleppo southeastern countryside were harvesting truffles, said the source, adding that the blast led to the martyrdom of five locals and the injury of one. All the victims were from one family, according to the source.

On February 24th, an explosion of a landmine planted by Daesh terrorist organization in Wadi al-Azib area in Syria’s Salamyah countryside claimed the lives of at least 20 civilians.

According to a source at Hama Police Command, a car with workers on board ran over a landmine in Wadi al-Azib area left behind by Daesh terrorists before being driven out of the area. The landmine exploded causing the martyrdom of more than 20 civilians.

The terrorists intensively planted explosive devices and landmines in wide agricultural lands in the villages and towns which were under their control before they were defeated by the Syrian army.
