Damascus – The National Earthquake Center on Saturday announced that 11 earthquakes of low intensity were recorded during the past 24 hours, ranging between magnitude 1.4 and 3 on the Richter scale.
In a statement, the center said that the stations of the National Seismic Monitoring Network recorded, until 7:34 am this morning, one tremor in Liwa Iskenderun (Alexandretta), 51 km west of Idlib, at a magnitude of 3 degrees, and 4 tremors hit Liwa Iskenderun northwest of Idlib the highest of which was at a magnitude of 2.2, a tremor hit an area 23 km southwest Idlib at a magnitude of 1.9, and another tremor in the Mediterranean Sea, 26 km west of Lattakia at a magnitude of 2.4.
The center pointed out that the stations recorded two tremors in central Turkey, the highest of which was recorded at magnitude 3, and two tremors in Lebanon, east and southeast of Beirut, the highest of which was at magnitude 1.8 degrees.
