1094 centers for local council elections are established in Damascus Countryside

On September 10th, the Governorate of Damascus Countryside established 1,094 electoral centers for local council elections in order to ease participation in the electoral process for all residential communities in the governorate.

The Governorate’s Secretary-General Ahmed Abdullah said that the total number of electoral districts for the governorate council is 11, for the city councils is 27, for country councils is 47, and for municipal councils is 82.

Abdullah confirmed that the governorate has completed all the logistical equipment and supplies related to the electoral process scheduled for September 18, and the committees that will supervise the elections have been identified.

The total number of candidates for the Damascus countryside governorate for administrative units and the governorate council reached 6553 candidates.
