1074 families benefit from the agriculture project in the tunnels in the countryside of Hasaka

The Rural Development Directorate in Al-Hasakah, in cooperation with the Syria Al-Yamamah Association and the World Food Program (WFP), completed the operations of the tunnel farming project.

The assistant director of the Rural Development Projects Branch in Al-Hasakah, Eng. Muhammad Khalaf Al-Attiyah stated that the aim of the project is to introduce modern agricultural methods in the field of vegetables, to secure self-sufficiency for the targeted families.

Al-Attiyah added that the project has completed the part  concerned with equipping agricultural nurseries, including seeds, fertilizer, seedlings, iron bars, and nylon bags.

 

He said that there will be a private nursery for each family that contains squash, cucumber and tomato seedlings under the supervision of agricultural engineers and technicians in the agricultural field.

The Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Syria Al-YamamahAssociation Saeed Al-Khader said that the project targeted 1074 families in Al-Hasakah, Tal Tamer and Al-Arisha.

Al-Khader said that the association will distribute a purchasing card for the families benefiting from the project, with a value of 100,000 pounds for a period of six months until the project reaches the production stage.
