1,350 Ukrainian soldiers surrender in the city of Mariupol

The Donetsk People’s Republic announced today that 1,350 Ukrainian soldiers of the Marine Corps have laid down their arms and surrendered to the defense headquarters in the city of Mariupol.

“As of last night, 1,350 Ukrainian marines, including 300 soldiers, surrendered in the last hours,” the defense headquarters said in a statement.

The spokesman for the Russian Defense Ministry, Major General Igor Konashenkov, announced earlier today that 134 Ukrainian soldiers, including 14 officers, laid down their arms and surrendered voluntarily as part of the operation to liberate the city of Mariupl last night.
