2022 will be “the best tourist year” in Syria since the war: Minister of Tourism

Minister of Tourism Mohammad Rami Martini stressed that the ministry has adopted a 10-year plan to enhance the tourism sector, pointing out that focus will be put on popular and cultural tourism.

 In a press conference on Wednesday, Martini said that 2022 will be “the best tourist year” in Syria since the war, noting dozens of applications from European countries for visiting Syria.

The minister added that 40 tourist projects are to be proposed during next year’s Tourism Investment Forum by public institutions such as the Ministry of Tourism, cities’ councils and some people’s organizations.

Martini affirmed that there are abundant tourism investment opportunities in Syria that will create job opportunities to more than 100,000 citizens until 2030.
