ALEPPO–  At his small shop in al-Faid neighborhood in Aleppo city and at his loom, carpet weaver Omer Rawwas masterfully weaves his story of love and passion for this heritage craft into his woven pieces, A report published by SANA said.

Striving to preserve this renowned craft, Rawwas, Abu Baraa, continued his family tradition and spent most of his time behind his wooden loom, weaving various kinds of rugs, carpets and tapestries.

He is one of the few who have realized the importance of saving ancient handmade crafts such as carpet weaving and rug making from extinction and keeping their legacy alive in the hearts of their loyal admirers.

DAMASCUS- An art exhibition and a musical concert for the Iranian Bayar band were among other activities held at Dar al-Assad for Culture and Arts in commemoration of the 39th anniversary of the victory of the Islamic revolution in Iran.

The event was organized by the Syrian Culture Ministry in cooperation of the Iranian Cultural Chancellery, according to SANA.

Rainbow Choir, conducted by Hussam Eddin Brimo, inaugurated the festivity performing a Persian song to stress the deep-rooted cultural ties binding Syria and Iran.

Damascus – “For Aleppo” exhibition kicked off on Monday at Faculty of Architecture Engineering of Damascus University. It was inaugurated by Vice President Najah al-Attar.

According to SANA, the exhibition includes 300 projects dealing with the ancient buildings and the historical sites of the Old City of Aleppo, and the damages they sustained at the hands of terrorist organizations.

DAMASCUS, (ST)- In a news conference in Damascus on Sunday, the crew of the Syria-Russian feature film entitled 'Palmyra'  announced the shooting of the movie the filming of which is due to begin in Summer of 2018 in Syria.

The joint film is produced by Syrian Shaghaf Company, which signed the film contract last April with Russian Proline-media company.

The news conference was held in the presence of Russian movie composer and producer Andrey Sigle, owner of Russia's Proline-media, as well as famous Syrian actress Sulaf Fawakherji and actor Wael Ramadan who represent Shaghaf company and who will star in the film. Russian director and scenarist Ivan Bolotnikov and the cameraman were also present in the news conference.

Actress Fawakherji said "preparations for the film started two years ago. In April, 2017, we signed a protocol for cooperation with producer Sigle under the patronage of the Russian Culture Minister to produce the film 'Palmyra' in a bid to enhance Syrian-Russian cooperation and because the Syrian historical city of Palmyra is a world heritage site".

Art in all its forms and kinds means the spirit that can enter our hearts and minds without permission and plants peace inside us.  

Art also serves all life fields (social, economic, entertainment) by showing us the beauty of our homes, offices and streets.

Art has two ways to reach for it (Academicals or God’s gift).

Many Artists who have gifs passed away, affected and still affects our hearts.

We met with one of the artists who had the gift since childhood in drawing and carving, his name is Ali al-Awad born in 1983, graduated from Syrian Tourist Institute. He is a professional in concrete wall paintings of houses and restaurants.

He has more than 100 three dimensions oil and concrete  wall paintings with magnificent mix of colors, size and writings.

He is doing his job using the concrete without drawing, and we all know the difficulty of dealing with it due to the fast solidity.

At the end we only say thanks for everyone who can draw a smile on a face.
