Al-Jaish football team crowned hero of the Premier League


Damascus - Syrian al-Jaish football team was crowned hero of the premier league after beating al-Karama 1-0 to come first with 16 points.

Al-Wahda beat al-Shurta 3-1, to come second, while al-Etihad came third.


Syria wins a fourth medal at Thailand Open Karate-do Championship

Bangkok – Hussein Saada of the Syrian national karate team won the bronze medal in the under-75 kg weight class at Thailand Open Karate-do Championship held in the capital Bangkok.

Earlier, Raafat al-Sheikh in over-84 kg weight class, Muna Shaheiber in under-61 KG weight class and Koloud al-Ali in over-68 kg weight class won three silver medals.


Syria’s Ghazal wins bronze medal at Monaco

Paris – Syria’s Majd Eddin Ghazal won a bronze medal after recording 234 cm in the high jump at Monaco diamond tournament.

The participation of Ghazal, comes within his training camp in Europe in preparation for participation in Rio de Janeiro 2016 Olympic Games, due to be held on August 15th.


Ajinah wins bronze medal in Kurash at Children of Asia International Sports Games


Sakha – Syrian player Mohammad Omran Ajinah (45kg) won the bronze medal after he beat a Siberian player in the Kurash competition within the Children of Asia International Sports Games, hosted by Sakha Republic in Russia.

2000 athletes from 39 countries took part in the Games, which will continue until next Sunday. Syria is participating with 50 players in 11 games, including boxing, judo, Kurash, Sambo, chess, ping-pong, wrestling, athletics, archery, swimming and taekwondo.


Syria Wins Gold and Bronze Medals in Asia International Children Sports in Russia

MOSCOW- Syrian athlete Loris Dannon on Monday won the gold medal in the 800 race within the Asian International Children Sports Games hosted by Sakha Yakutia Republic in Russia, SANA reported.

Dannon, who earlier won the silver medal in 1,500 race, finished the race in 2,11 minutes.

Athlete Alisa Taqi Eddin ranked third and got the bronze medal in 100 meters hurdles.
