Syria harvests ten medals at West Asia Juniors Championship

Beirut - The Syrian athletics team won four new medals on the third day of the West Asia Juniors Championship which was held in Lebanon.

Athletes Nour Mustafa and Hala al-Awar won a gold medal and a silver medal at the high jump competitions while athlete Rim al-Hassan won a bronze medal at the discus throwing competition.

It is to be mentioned that our team got 6 medals on the first and second days competitions. Syrian player Hanin Hassan got the gold medal at race of 300m, while player Hamza Ahmad gained the bronze medal at the Javelin throw. Rima al-Hasan won a gold medal for throwing the iron ball, and Aya Rouhiah won the gold medal at the 400  meter race hurdles for junior female athletes, while Zen al- Abidine Ismaiel won the silver medal in the 400 meter race hurdles.

The Syrian team wins more medals on third day of West Asia Juniors Championship

The Syrian athletics team has continued winning more medals at West Asia Juniors Championship currently held in Lebanon as it won a gold medal, a silver medal and two bronzes on the third day of the championship.

The Athletes Nour Mustafa and Hala al-Awar won a gold medal and a silver medal at the high jump competitions while athlete Rim al-Hassan won a bronze medal at the discus throwing competition.

The team won four gold medals, one silver and one bronze in the first and second day, and by the end of the third day of the championship, the Syrian team had won five gold medals, two silvers and three bronzes.

Syria loses 3-4 to Palestine in WAC

 Syria’s national football team lost to its Palestinian counterpart 3-4 in Iraq (WAC).

Khaled al-Mubeyd, Firas al-Khateeb and Mardik Mardikian scored for our team.

It is to be mentioned that our team lost to Lebanon and tied with Yemen and Iraq. With this result, our team ended up in the last position in its group with 2 points.

Al-Jalaa’ Club wins the Basketball league

 Al-Jalaa’ Club topped and won the youth Basketball league with 11 points after beating al-Taleea’a (64-61) in Hama, while al-Wahda topped second with 10 points and al-Taleea’a got the third place with 9 points.

Ma’ala wins silver medal at Masters in South Korea

Seoul - Syrian swimmer Firas Ma’ala won the silver medal (3km, 37:04:3 min) at the international championship of Masters which was held in South Korea.
