Nostalgia in the drawings of Syrian Expatriate Saief Daoud of old Damascus

The conditions of expatriation have not prevented  Syrian artists and intellectuals  from creativity and success  rather they are a major incentive to present the best to express their  deep loyalty and  sincere feelings of nostalgia  to their motherland.

The color intertwined with poetic visions in  art works displayed  in” Tarnim” exhibition by the Syrian expatriate   artist Saif Daoud. This intertwining  gave  the  paintings a touch of sadness, alienation and suffering.

Director General of the General Administration of the Ministry of Defense: Legislative Decree No. (31) provides facilities for young Syrians who want to return home

On November 9, Director General of the General Administration of the Ministry of Defense General Ahmed Suleiman said that Legislative Decree No. (31) for the year 2020, issued by President Bashar Al-Assad, amended some articles of Legislative Decree No. (30) dated 3-5-2007 and its amendments, including the law on military service.

General Suleiman said that the new Decree encourages and provides facilities for young Syrians who want to return to their homeland after the terrorist war imposed on Syria forced them to emigrate and work with their families in other countries.

Syrian youths in Australia launch solidarity campaign in support of their homeland

Melbourne (ST): Members of the Syrian community in Australia have launched a solidarity campaign in support of their homeland, Syria.

Organized by the Group of Syrian Expatriate Youths, the campaign was held under the title of “ Supporting the Firefighting Brigade” because of the fires that had erupted in several Syrian governorates and caused huge material damage to Syrian agricultural lands and citizens’ properties.

Samir Mardini, one of the founders of the Group, said that the aim of the campaign was to provide support for the firefighting brigades in Syria through collecting donations that contribute to ensuring additional equipment that helps in extinguishing fires.

In turn, Sarjoun Mardini said that the founding of the Group is considered an opportunity for the expatriate youths to express their love and loyalty to their homeland and people.

The first online Syrian plastic exhibition in Ukraine

The Honorary Consulate of Syria and the Syrian community in Ukraine invited a number of Syrian plastic artists to participate in the first online  Syrian plastic art exhibition in Ukraine. The event  will be held on social media platforms and the official website of the Syrian community in Ukraine..

The artistic supervisor of the exhibition,  sculptor Afif Agha  said in a statement to SANA that he sought to organize this exhibition after  he had  touched ,during two individual exhibitions held in the Ukrainian capital Kiev, the interest of the Arab community, especially the Syrian as well as  Ukrainian interest  in Syrian art.

He pointed to   the remarkable attendance, which made an impression on everyone's desire to hold an  exhibition  for Syrian art  to follow up  the creativity achieved by the contemporary plastic movement in  Syria. 

Due to the circumstances of the Corona pandemic, the exhibition has shifted from realistic to virtual, to be held later in the most important galleries or in the museum in Kiev at a later time.

The sculptor Agha stressed  that the aim of the exhibition is to introduce a number of Syrian artists and their work on social media platforms and the official website of the Syrian community, in addition to coverage of the exhibition by the Ukrainian media including  television stations, radio stations, magazines, newspapers and websites.

National Union of Syrian Expatriates in Sweden voices its support for Syria in its war on terrorism

STOCKHOLM, (ST)- The National Union of Syrian Expatriates in Sweden has voiced its support for the motherland Syria in its war on terrorism in order to continue with the process of rebuilding and development.

During a celebration held in Stockholm marking the anniversaries of the October Liberation War and the  Correctionist Movement , Dr. Kabi Eisho, Chairman of the Union, hailed the victories achieved by the Syrian Arab Army after huge sacrifices in its battle to liberate every inch of Syrian land from terrorism. He noted the important role that can be played by Syrian expatriates to defend and support Syria.

The October Liberation War and the  Correctionist Movement have formed a turning point in Syria’s history due to the major victories and achievements that were achieved, Eisho said, pointing out that Syria is currently carrying on the struggle against terrorists and conspirators.
