President Assad Receives Syrian Football Team

DAMASCUS, (ST)_ H.E. President Bashar Al-Assad received today the Syrian Football National Team and its technical and administrative cadres.

President Al-Assad congratulated the Syrian Football National Team for its distinguished performance in the matches played for 2018 Moscow World Cup Qualifications.

"What the National Syrian Team accomplished is but a national status before being a sportive one and in strong indication that the terrorist war imposed on Syria for years has not weakened the will of the Syrians but boosted their strength, determination and togetherness," underscored President Assad.


 "The development of the National Football Team under the difficult circumstances Syria passes through is itself an accomplishment as to build upon and pursue the development and upgrading and sharping potentialities in preparations for coming championships," added H.E. President Assad.

"Such accomplishments by the Syrians in different fields would have been not achieved had it not been for the success and victories achieved by the Syrian Army and Armed Forces against terrorists and had it not been for the steadfastness of the Syrian People against the fiercest war imposed on Syria in modern history," outlined H.E. President Assad.

Success in Eliminating Terrorism in Syria Deals Heavy Blow to Western Schemes in Region

DAMASCUS, (ST)- President Bashar Al-Assad has underscored that success in eliminating terrorism in Syria deals a heavy blow to western schemes in the region and this is why some countries keep supporting the terrorist groups in Syria in particular and in the region in general.

The president made the remarks during his meeting on Thursday with the Iranian  Army Chief of Staff, Major General Mohammad Hossein Bagheri.

During the meeting Maj. Gen. Bagheri conveyed a message to President Al-Assad from the Supreme Leader of the Islamic Republic of Iran Ali Khamenei congratulating him on the victories being achieved on terrorism in Syria.

President Al-Assad Stresses Need to Enhance Political Work to Fortify Anti-Terrorism Axis

DAMASCUS, (ST)- President Bashar Al-Assad  has stressed the importance of enhancing political work in parallel with efforts to defeat terrorism as to fortify and widen the anti-terrorism axis in the confrontation of the opposite axis which keeps trying to spread chaos and use terrorism as a tool to achieve its interests.  

President Al-Assad made the remarks during his meeting Thursday with an official Iranian delegation led by Chairman of the Committee for Foreign Policy and National Security at the Iranian Shoura Council Alaeddin Boroujerdi.

Talks dealt with the latest developments of the war on terrorism as well as the regional and international developments which can't be separated from the ongoing war on terrorism in Syria.

President Al-Assad: Countries that Supported Syrians' War against Terrorism to Have Priority in Syria’s Reconstruction

DAMASCUS, (ST)- Victories being achieved by the Syrian Arab Army on terrorism with the help of friendly countries, especially Russia, and the restoration of security and stability to several liberated areas have paved the way for speeding up the economic wheel and for the start of reconstruction in the country, President Bashar Al-Assad has stressed, pointing out that it is normal for countries which supported the Syrian people in their war against terrorism, to have priority as regards participation in Syria’s reconstruction process.

President Al-Assad: Majority of Arab Peoples Support the Syrians against Terrorism

DAMASCUS, (ST)- President Bashar Al-Assad has stressed that visits by Arab popular delegations to Syria have special and great meaning for the Syrian people, particularly as the majority of Arab peoples back the Syrians in the face of terrorism, bloodshed and destruction, whereas the Arab regimes, which have backed and funded the terrorism hitting Syria, are not worth mentioning compared to this majority.

The president made the remarks during a meeting on Saturday with a Mauritanian parliamentary delegation representing some Mauritanian parties and led by leader of the Mauritanian Ravah (welfare) Party Mohamed Ould Vall.
