Syrians More Immune and Solid, Underscored President Assad

 DAMASCUS, (ST)_ the battle waged by the Syrian People is indeed a national one and with distinction, given the failure of the enemies of Syria as to strike at the strong social components of the Syrian Society, underscored H.E. President Bashar Al-Assad.

Receiving members of the participants in the permanent bureau of Arab Bars Union here Saturday, President Assad asserted that the Syrian People succeeded to a great extent in preserving their social texture and integrity and became more immune and solid.

Members of the delegation cited the need for a 'legal battle' before international courts as to fill lawsuits against the perpetrators and backers of terrorism in Syria, expressing their full solidarity with Syria in its fight, on behalf of the region and the entire world, against terrorism.

The pivotal and important role of Popular Unions and Associations was underlined as to resurrect the idea of national belonging in the face of Western schemes aiming to target Arab social component through extremism.

Arab Bars Union is convening the meeting of its Permanent Bureau in Damascus under the motto: 'the States' Right to fight Terrorism'.

Legend of Steadfastness and Source of Inspiration

 DAMASCUS, (ST)- the great leader, Fidel Castro, led the struggle of his people and country against imperialism and hegemony for decades and with all steadfastness and efficiency; the Late Castro has indeed been the legend of steadfastness and the source of inspiration for leaders and people worldwide, said President Bashar Assad.

In a condolence cable on the untimely demise of President Castro of Cuba, President Assad underscored that the friendly Cuba has been able under the leadership of the Late Castro to stand steadfast in the face of the most brutal sanctions and misleading campaigns of distortions; consequently, Castro would ever remain alive in the memory of generations and as the source of inspiration for all the peoples who aspire to accomplish genuine independence and emancipation from hegemony and colonialism.

President Assad voiced to President Raol Castro, Cuban leadership and to the friendly people of the Republic of Cuba, on behalf of the People of the Syrian Arab Republic and of his own, the utmost and sincerest of commiserations and condolences, wishing the best of victory and progress to Cuba.

Syrian Russian Relations Bolstered

 DAMASCUS, (ST)_ H.E. President Bashar Al-Assad received here Tuesday  morning a Russian delegation, chaired by Dmitry Rogozin, the Deputy Premier of the Russian Federation.

The visiting Russian delegation comprises the deputy ministers of Foreign Affairs, Defense, Economic Development, Energy and Agriculture.

Talks during the meeting dealt with the close bilateral historic relations  between Syria  and Russia in light of the standing coordination in the field of fighting terrorism and the economic and trade fields.

The stances and policies  taken by Russia at the international level and as regards the war of terrorism against Syria have indeed proved the natural position of Russia as a great power based on principles, values , commitment to international law and the respect for states' sovereignty and right to self-determination.

President Assad cited the importance of the Russian support for Syria in all fields, particularly in the economic field which concretely contributed to reduce the Syrians' sufferings, caused by the war of terrorism and the for years unjust imposed economic sanction.

Mr. Rogozin underscored that the main goal for the political, economic and military assistance provided by the Russian Federation to Syria, government and people, is but to bolster the steadfastness factors against terrorism, which perpetrates heinous crimes against Syrians where the dangers of such terrorism extended to many worldwide spots.

Both sides agreed as to enhance bilateral cooperation in the fields of economy, trade exchange, investment, oil, gas and transport.

The Russian visiting delegation met with the Syrian Premier, Engineer Imad Khami, and Ministers of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates, Minister of Finance, Minister of Oil and Mineral Resources, State Planning and International Cooperation Commission Chairman, Assistant Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates, and in attendance of the Russian Ambassador to Syria.

Engineer Khamis voiced appreciations and gratitude to Russia, Government and people,  for their support and stance by the Syrians, stressing that the Syrian Government is working on a two-fold level: to support Armed Forces to defeat terrorism and encounter its consequences, and to encounter the economic reality inflicted by the war of terrorism.

Premier Khamis asserted that the Syrian Government is keen on bolstering economic relations with Russia upgrading them to the level of the standing political relations and would spare no efforts as to bolster this cooperation.

Mr. Rogozin underlined that the aim behind the visit is not only to discuss economic, trade, scientific cooperation, but is further to hold complementary talks regarding all fields.

Mr. Rogozin pointed out that the success of the military operation in Syria necessitates the support for economic life conditions as to persist in work and achieve victory.

Three protocols for Customs , information  and assistance exchange were signed in their initial letters.

The Deputy Premier and the Foreign Affairs and Expatriates Minster, Mr. Walid Al-Moallem, underscored the pivotal role of the Russian support as to enable Syria to encounter the terrorist war imposed on it.

Minster Al-Moallem pointed out that the war of terrorism imposed on Syrians caused the dire need for wheats and fuel as alleviate their sufferings.

Minister Al-Moallem declared that the priority will be accorded to the friends, among them the Russians, when it comes to rebuilding projects, citing the importance for increasing bilateral trade exchange volume and for enabling the Syrian goods in the Russian markets as to achieve an economic bilateral strategic partnership.

President Al-Assad Congratulates General Michel Oun on Becoming President of Lebanon

DAMASCUS, (ST)- President Bashar Al-Assad on Monday congratulated General  Michel Oun on becoming President of Lebanon.

In a phone conversation, President Al-Assad wished  President Oun all success in his new tasks, hoping that the new step would open a new era in Lebanon's political life that contributes to consolidating Lebanon's stability and achieving better future for the Lebanese people.

Laws Must Be Applied to All without Selectivity, Favoritism: President Al-Assad to Governors

DAMASCUS, (ST)- Laws should be respected and must be applied to all away from selectivity or favoritism, President Bashar Al-Assad stressed during his meeting on Thursday with governors of Syrian provinces.

 The meeting was attended by Prime Minister Imad Khamis and the Local Administration Minister Hussein Makhlouf.

 President Al-Assad said that applying the laws necessitates more filed visits by concerned officials to help uncover corrupt officials and workers, help fight bureaucracy and squandering and help enhance cooperation between the Local Administration Ministry and the Ministry of Internal Trade and Consumer Protection to control prices in the service of citizens.
