Russia's Putin Congratulates President Al-Assad on Syria’s Independence Day

DAMASCUS, (ST)-President Bashar Al-Assad  on Tuesday received a congratulation cable from President Vladimir Putin of Russia marking Syria's 71st Independence Day.

In his cable, Putin confirmed Russia’s firms and constant support for peaceful settlement of the crisis in Syria through wide national dialogue that  leads to stopping the shedding of the Syrian blood and unifies the Syrians in fight against the forces of international terrorism and extremism.

Determination to Eliminate Terrorism Reiterated

 DAMASCUS, (ST)_  Syria, People and Army, is determined to eliminate terrorism from every spot of the Syrian Territories, reiterated H.E. President Bashar Al-Assad.

In a telephone conversation with His Iranian Counterpart, Hassan Rouhani, President Assad asserted that the United States failed in achieving its objectives behind its aggression as to raise the morale of its backed terrorist group following the victories achieved by the Syrian Army.

President Assad thanked Iran, Leadership and People, for its continued stand by the Syrian People against the terrorism war backed by scores of Western and regional states.

President Rouhani, who made the phone call to President Assad, expressed his strong condemnation of the flagrant US aggression against the Syrian territories in flagrant violation of the Syrian sovereignty and of all international laws and conventions.

President Rouhani underscored Iran's stand by the Syrian State in its war against terrorism and in whatever initiatives provided by Syria as to find a peaceful solution for the crisis in Syria leading to a stop in Syrian blood shedding.

On December 14, 2016, Iranian President Hassan Rouhani congratulated President Bashar Al-Assad on the Syrian people's victory over terrorists in Aleppo.

 In a phone call, President Rouhani said "this victory is an important and basic step to uproot terrorism from all parts of Syria and to restore peace and stability nationwide."

He hailed the steadfastness of the Syrian people in confrontation of terrorism, reiterating Iran's firm and continuous support for Syria in all domains.

 President Al-Assad, on his part, thanked President Rouhani , the Iranian people and government for backing the Syrian people.

President Assad highly appreciated Iran's political and economic support for  Syria and the Syrian people in the war on terrorism, stressing that this support has enhanced the steadfastness of the Syrians and contributed to the Syrian army's victories in different areas.

New Ministers Sworn in before President Al-Assad

DAMASCUS– New ministers of Justice, Economy and Foreign Trade and Administrative Development were sworn in before President Bashar al-Assad on Thursday.

Ministers Hisham Mohammad Mamdouh al-Shaar, Mohammad Samer Abdelrahman al-Khalil and Salam Mohammad al-Saffaf, respectively, were named by Decree no. 92 for 2017 issued by the President on Wednesday, SANA reported.

Presidential Decree Naming Three New Ministers

DAMASCUS- President Bashar al-Assad issued on Wednesday a decree on amending the Cabinet.

The decree names Hisham Mohammad Mamdouh al-Sha’ar as Justice Minister, Samer Abdelrahman al-Khalil as Economy and Foreign Trade Minister and Salam Mohammad al-Saffaf as Administrative Development Minister, according to SANA.
