President al-Assad during launching new standard version of Holy Quran: Current time requires acts that prevent misinterpreting the Holy Book


Damascus– President Bashar al-Assad on Monday received Minister of Awqaf (Religious Endowments ) Mohammad Abdul-Sattar al-Sayyed and members of the Ministry’s Permanent Committee for the Holy Quran Affairs.

Minister al-Sayyed briefed President al-Assad on the new standard version which President al-Assad ordered its formation.

In the new version, Quranic letters are simplified and sketched with dexterity according to a set of accredited standards that scholars of Quranic science use.

Stability in Syria to be positively reflected on the region and on Europe

 DAMASCUS, (ST)_ The stability in Syria is to be positively reflected on the region stability as well as on stability in Europe, Jean-Frederic Poisson, member of the National Assembly of France and Chairman of the Christian Democratic Party, underscored here Sunday.

Received by H.E. President Bashar Al-Assad, Mr. Poisson asserted that such a stability would never be achieved but through supporting the Syrian State and dialogue with President Al-Assad as to solve the crisis in Syria and in parallel with the fighting against terrorism.

The French veteran Parliamentarian underlined the necessity of cooperation with the Syrian Government as to eliminate terrorism and limit its risks.

H. E. President Al-Assad reiterated the importance of the role played by wise Parliamentarians and Politicians in France and Europe in general in correcting Western policies towards Syria and the region.

Such Western policies have been proved as a failure contributing to the expansion and proliferation of terrorism, reaching to European States, because they paid no heed to the region people's demands, interference in the region domestic affairs, and because they pursued double standards in fighting terrorism, H.E. President Assad pointed out.

President Assad spoke during the meeting about the war waged by the Syrian People against the terrorist organizations, backed by regional and European countries, and about the risks of this very terrorism against the region stability as well as of Europe stability in general.

MP Poisson stated that the crisis in Syria could not be solved through the EU or the West in general nor by the US without talking with President Bashar Al-Assad.

MP Poisson referred to the disinformation and misleading the European people are being subjected to in regard to the nature of the events taking place in Syria.

Fighting Terrorism on Behalf of the Entire World Underlined

 DAMASCUS, (ST) _ all countries should rally and exert efforts as to fight and eliminate terrorism, underscored H. E. President Bashar Al-Assad.

Meeting the two envoys of South Africa President to the Middle East, Dr. Zola Skweyiya and Aziz Pahad and the delegation accompanying, President Assad Pointed out that terrorism, with its extremist ideology, has become a global problem with no borders or specific location.

President Assad briefed the visiting delegation on the risks of takfiri and extremist terrorism which the Syrian People are being exposed to and with direct support from some parties and countries in the region and under the cover of some western countries which claim to fight terrorism.

President Assad added that the people of the region believe that BRICS, in which South Africa is a member, can play an active role in rallying efforts as to fight terrorism, given the fact that the basic objective of BRICS members has ever been to establish and consecrate world stability and security through the establishment of balance international relations and through commitment to the standing international conventions, based on the respect for states integrity, sovereignty and the peoples right to self destiny.

The visiting South African President two envoys asserted that their country is to work through BRICS and African Unions in support of the Syrian People in confronting the terrorism against Syrians, as Syria, on behalf the entire world, is fighting terrorism under the leadership of President Assad.

The two envoys voiced support for the ongoing efforts as to find a peaceful settlement for the crisis in Syria and strong belief that the Syrians would, away from foreign interference, find solutions through national dialogue up to the expectations of the Syrians in perseverance of the sovereignty and integrity of Syria.

South Africa President, Mr. Jacob Zuma's greetings to President Assad were conveyed, where President Zuma asserted too the keenness of South Africa on bolstering bilateral relations and continued coordination in the interest of the friendly people of both countries and their shared vision on the necessity of the bolstering of world peace and security.

Present at the meeting were Dr. Bouthaina Shabaan, the Presidential Political and Media Advisor, and the Ambassador of South Africa to Damascus, Mr. S E Byneveldt.

President al-Assad receives congratulatory cables on occasion of Ramadan


DAMASCUS – President Bashar al-Assad on Wednesday received congratulatory cables from the Religious Endowments (Awqf) Minister, Justice Minister, Grand Mufti, and First Sharia Judge in Damascus on occasion of the advent of Ramadan month.

Terrorism Supporters Should be Curbed

 DAMASCUS, (ST)_ The silence over the crimes perpetrated by terrorists would encourage the terrorists as to pursue their terrorism, underlined H.E. President Bashar Al-Assad.

During his talks here Tuesday with the visiting Special Envoy of the UN Secretary-General to Syria, Staffan de Mistura , His Excellency underlined the dire need for the whole world as to be aware of the danger posed by terrorism against the entire world stability and security.
