 DAMASCUS, (ST)_ H.E. President Bashar Al-Assad reiterated that the fight against terrorism starts with exerting pressure on the countries which support and finance terrorist organizations and claim at the same time to be now fighting terrorism.

Receiving the Iraqi National Security Advisor and envoy of the Iraqi Premier, Falih Al-Fayadh, H.E. President Al-Assad voiced relief over the standing ccoperations with Iraqi leaderships in encountering the terrorist organizations, which resulted in positive outcomes for both countries and the region.

DAMASCUS, (ST)_ H.E. President Bashar Al-Assad reiterated that the fight against terrorism starts with exerting pressure on the countries which support and finance terrorist organizations and claim at the same time to be now fighting terrorism.

Receiving the Iraqi National Security Advisor and envoy of the Iraqi Premier, Falih Al-Fayadh, H.E. President Al-Assad voiced relief over the standing ccoperations with Iraqi leaderships in encountering the terrorist organizations, which resulted in positive outcomes for both countries and the region.

Mr. Al-Fayadh briefed H.E. President Al-Assad on the latest developments in Iraq and the efforts exerted by the government and people of Iraq to encounter terrorists.

Assertion was laid on the importance of the bolstering of coordination and cooperation between Syria and Iraq as to fight terrorism threatening both countries, the region as well as the entire globe.

H.E. President al-Assad: the fight against terrorism is but the priority

 DAMASCUS, (ST)_ H.E. President Bashar Al-Assad reiterated Syria's continued work with the UN Envoy, Staffan De Mistura, providing every support and cooperation as to make success of his mission in the interest of the Syrians for a solution that would rid them from terrorism and eliminate all of its affiliated organizations with their different names.

Receiving  De Mistura Thursday, President Al-Assad underlined that the success of Di Mistura in his mission is but the success for Syria and its People.

The fight against terrorism is but the priority, declared H.E. President Al-Assad, asserting that terrorism has become the biggest danger threatening all.

Whatever progress in fighting terrorism would contribute to backing national reconciliations which so far were a success in Syrian regions as a launching pad for an all-out Syrian-Syrian dialogue, President Al-Assad pointed out.

The meeting was held in a positive climate, especially regarding the implementation of UNSC resolution 2170, where viewpoints were in agreement on the importance of this anti-terrorism resolution and the necessity to correctly implement it.

The UN Envoy asserted that he would spare no effort as to work with all sides inside as wel as outside Syria for the finding of a peaceful solution for the crisis in Syria through a political process in parallel with the combating of terrorism and pursuance of national reconciliations.

De Mistura held earlier  talks with Foreign and Expatriates Minister,  Walid al-Moallem, as well with his deputy, Dr. Faisal al-Miqda, where the talks focused at with the priority of combating terrorism, particularly the terrorism of the so-called Islamic State in Iraq and Sham (ISIS) and Jabhat al-Nusra in addition to all terrorist organizations, draining its resources and pressing the countries supporting it to stop the financing, arming and training terrorists and implementing the items of Security council resolution No. 2170.

Minister  al-Moallem said that and the will of the Syrian people would determine their future and destiny, adding  the Syrian people have elected their president and leadership, so  all should respect this.

President al-Assad Accepts Credentials of Belarus Ambassador to Syria

DAMASCUS.(ST)_ President Bashar al-Assad on Sunday accepted the credentials of Alexander Ponomarev as ambassador of the Republic of Belarus to Syria.

Then, President al-Assad received Ambassador Ponomarev, exchanged talks with him and wished him success in his duties.

The ceremony held for this purpose was attended by Walid al-Moallem, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates and Mansour Azzam, Minister of Presidential Affairs.

The ambassador was received and seen off at the People's (al-Chaab) Palace in the usual ceremonies.

cooperation and coordination with Iran at the economic level to be bolstered

 DAMASCUS, (ST)_ The Syrian People do welcome Iran's willingness to contribute to reconstruction process in Syria as well as the willingness of other friendly countries, underscored H.E. President Bashar Al-Assad here Wednesday.

During his meeting with Engineer Rustom Qassimi, Chairman of the Syrian-Iranian Economic Development Committee, H.E. President Al-Assad pointed out that the Syrian People highly appreciate Iran's stance by Syria in confronting the schemes targeting the region people and their joint interests.
