Voting right and duty of every honest citizen

The constitutional process of the upcoming presidential elections in Syria is an opportunity for each citizen to play an important role in building strong, modern Syria and helps put visions and plans to reactivate Syria’s original values and its bright future. All Syrians inside and outside the country should be part of the civilized democratic process and head for polls to vote for the candidate they deem suitable and able to restore stability and peace to Syria. Syrian people will choose the person who can preserve their firm and unwavering national and pan-Arab principles, especially with regard to resisting the Zionist project in the region.  Each citizen is responsible for rebuilding the Syrians' psychology and reconstructing the country economically, educationally and socially.

Presidential Candidate al-Nouri to Syrian TV: Syrian People Interact Positively with Upcoming Elections

DAMASCUS, (ST)-The Syrian TV yesterday interviewed presidential candidate, Dr. Hassan Abdullah al-Nouri to talk about his electoral statement and explain its items to the public opinion.

 Al-Nouri said that the Presidential elections in Syria, which have been the first of their kind since the country's independence, "are to be held under the new constitution and in a democratic and pluralist atmosphere with which the Syrian people interact positively."

"Syria after elections will be different from the one before, because the presidential elections in the country will mark a new era in Syria based on deeper democratic basis," said al-Nouri, expressing hope that his electoral statement will embody the aspirations of the Syrian people.    

Presidential Candidates Launch Election Campaign

DAMASCUS, (ST)-The Three presidential candidates, Mr. Maher Abdul Hafeez Hajjar, Dr. Hassan Abdullah al-Nouri and Dr. Bashar Hafez Al-Assad yesterday launched their election campaigns after the Supreme Constitutional Court (SCC) had announced their names in the final list of presidential candidates.

Posters containing the pictures of the three candidates and selections of their election programs are heavily noticed in most of the streets of the capital, Damascus, and those of other Syrian cities. 

Three Presidential Candidates to Begin Election Campaigns on May 11th

DAMASCUS,(ST)_The Supreme Constitutional Court has announced the final list of presidential candidates to formally begin their campaigns as of May,11th, 2014.

Speaking at a news conference held today, the court's Spokesman said that the final list of presidential candidates comprises of Mr. Maher Abdulhafiz Hajjar, Mr. Hassan Abdullah al-Nouri and Dr. Bashar al-Assad.

Dr. Bassam Abu Abdallah to ST: Presidential elections 'first step to stability in Syria'

Syria gears up for presidential elections amid successive victories being notched up by army units against foreign-backed terrorist groups on several fronts and the US-led bids to hamper and play down the decision of the majority of the Syrian people to elect their leader under national sovereignty.

The Syriatimes e-newspaper conducted an interview with political analyst Dr. Bassam Abu Abdallah, Director of Damascus Center for Strategic Studies, to shed light on the repercussions of holding the presidential elections on time and Syria's international and regional relations after the elections.
