President Al-Assad Issues General Amnesty

DAMASCUS, (ST)- President Bashar Al-Assad on Sunday issued the Legislative Decree No. 20 for 2019 granting general amnesty for crimes committed before September 14th, 2019.

The decree minimizes major penalties like execution to life-time hard labor imprisonment while life sentences are lessened to 20 years in prison.

The decree also covers military service penalties.

Deserters from the army must surrender themselves to benefit from the amnesty.

President al-Assad discusses with Russian delegation tomorrow’s meeting of guarantor states

President Bashar al-Assad has received the Russian president’s special envoy to Syria Alexander Lavrentiev and Russia’s Deputy Foreign Minister Sergey Vershinin and the accompanying delegation.

The talks dealt with the trilateral meeting to be held tomorrow between leaders of the three guarantor states of the Astana process on the settlement in Syria besides Russia’s efforts to remove obstacles being put by some states in the region and outside it in order to delay reaching an agreement to end the war in Syria, according to the Syrian Presidency website.

President al-Assad: Workers represent national and nationalist identity of any country

DAMASCUS,(ST)_President Bashar al-Assad has asserted the importance of the 3rd International Trade Union Forum held in Damascus to voice solidarity with Syrian workers and People, saying that workers
represent the national and nationalist identity of any country.
 
“When the workers are Ok, then the society will be Ok,” the president said during today’s meeting with a delegation representing the participants in the Forum held in Sahara complex between September 8-9.

President al-Assad receives French National Rally Party delegation

DAMASCUS, (ST)_ President Bashar al-Assad received today a delegation representing the French National Rally Party headed by Thierry Mariani.

The talks dealt with the recent victories achieved by the Syrian army in Hama and Idleb, the Turkish support to terrorist groups in Idleb , the foreign terrorists who are fighting in Syria and the US Administration's policy that seeks to keep the region in chaos, according to the Syrian Presidency website.

President Al-Assad: Recent Battles in Idleb Have Unveiled Ankara's Open, Limitless Support for Terrorists

DAMASCUS, (ST)- President Bashar Al-Assad has stressed that the recent battles in Idleb have unveiled Ankara's open and limitless support for terrorists in Syria.

President al-Assad made the remarks during his meeting on Tuesday with a delegation representing the Russian political party "United Russia" led by Member of the Russian State Duma Dmitry Sablin.

Talks during the meeting dealt with  developments of the war on terrorism in Syria.

Sablin and the accompanying delegation congratulated President Al-Assad on the victories being achieved by the Syrian Arab army over terrorist organizations, particularly in Idleb. They expressed confidence that these victories will lead at the end to achieving security and stability countrywide.
