Lavrov: Moscow Affirms Need to Respect Syria’s Sovereignty and Territorial Integrity

MOSCOW-Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov underlined the need for solving the crisis in Syria according to UN resolution No. 2254 and respecting its sovereignty and territorial integrity.

“We are totally committed to the UN resolution No. 2254 and first of all the respect for Syria’s territorial integrity,” Lavrov said at a press conference with Egyptian counterpart Sameh Shukri on Monday, according to SANA.

He pointed out to the importance of the international community to help reconstruct Syria.

UN resolution No. 2254, issued in December 2015, affirms that the Syrians are the only one who determine the future of their country without any foreign intervention.
