Iran rejects Arab League claims on interfering in Syria

TEHRN– Foreign Ministry Spokesman Ghasemi rejected recent claims by Arab League Secretary General Ahmed Aboul Gheit calling them baseless and repetitive.

“The continuation of the regrettable situation in Syria is the result of the policies and interference of the governments that have been acting against the legal government of Syria, and arm and train terrorists under pretext of fighting terrorism and cause destruction, homelessness and killing of the country's children,” Bahram Ghasemi said, according to Mehr News Agency.

Some westerners want region in crisis

TEHRAN– Iran's Secretary of SNSC told the President of French National Assembly that some westerners are after keeping the region in trouble.

“Any words of changing the political map of the region heighten the tensions,” said Secretary of Supreme National Security Council of Iran (SNSC) Ali Shamkhani in his Tuesday meeting with visiting President of French National Assembly Claude Bartolone in Tehran, according to Mehr News Agency.

The French parliamentarian who arrived in Tehran late on Monday was received by Rear Admiral shamkhani on Tuesday evening after his earlier meetings with President Rouhani, FM Zarif and Speaker of Iran’s Parliament Larijani.

Takfiri Groups’ Way of Thinking Threatening Regional Stability, Security

Tehran -Foreign Ministry spokesman Bahram Qasemi said the thinking of Takfiri terrorist groups poses threats to regional security and stability.

He condemned yesterday's terrorist attacks in Baghdad and Kabul which claimed scores of civilian lives and expressed sympathy with the Afghanistan and Iraqi nations.

He said as long as the international community lacks real and necessary will to recognize the Wahhabi roots of terrorist Takfiri groups and those countries which support the terrorist groups refrain from holding them accountable for their actions by threatening them with cutting supports, they will continue with their violent terrorist operations.

Christians in the Orient will remain part of its heart, Patriarch Yazigi says


Amman - Greek Orthodox Patriarch of Antioch and All the East John X Yazigi asserted that the Christians of the Orient will remain part and a parcel of the east’s heart and identity in spite of the terrorist attacks which they face.

In a speech at the General Assembly of the Council of Churches of the Middle East in Amman on Tuesday, the Patriarch called for find a political resolution to the crisis in Syria and to put an end to it, SANA reported.

Yazigi called for uncovering the fate of the bishops of Aleppo John Ibrahim and Boulos Yazigi, criticizing the failure of international community in releasing them.

Strengthening terrorists grave mistake by US, allies

TEHRAN– Senior Iranian MP Alaeddin Boroujerdi said the US and its regional allies have committed a grave mistake by lending financial and military support to terrorist groups in the region.

Chairman of the Iranian Parliament’s Committee on National Security and Foreign Policy Alaedddin Boroujerdi made the remark in a meeting with visting Japanese State Minister for Foreign Affairs Kentaro Sonoura on Saturday evening in Tehran, according to the Mehr News agency.

He went on to add, “the mistake that the US and its regional allies have made by providing terrorist groups with financial and military support to strengthen them, requires collective and international cooperation among all countries to be contained.”
